Homeless Columbus teen beaten and raped

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus teen is recovering after a brutal attack Sunday night. The 16-year-old reported being raped and beaten by another teen.

It happened at the Kabar Apartments on Mason Drive in Columbus. With blood pouring from her head and cuts covering her body, the teenager ran into the home of an essential stranger to escape a gun-toting suspect.

Columbus police report the victim, a homeless teen, was beaten and raped by 18-year-old Kevin Henderson.

Investigators said Henderson also pistol-whipped the teen.

She was able to get away and run to a house across the street.  The woman who lives in the home said the young girl didn't have on any clothes and had a huge "hole" in her forehead.

The witness said Henderson followed the victim to her home where he was arrested.  Henderson being charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy and rape.

He's scheduled to be in Recorder's Court Wednesday at 2 p.m.
