COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus man was arrested twice this week. In the first incident, he was charged with criminal trespass and public indecency.

Witnesses said Matthew Cosgrove, 30, caused such a disturbance during church services, they needed to call police. It happened at Calvary Community Church located at 8100 Cooper Creek Road.

Witnesses told police Cosgrove went into the church Sunday around 11:15 a.m. and was greeted by ushers who expected he was there to pray like everyone else.

Soon they noticed he began to act strange, first flexing his muscles and generally calling attention to himself.

Then, witnesses said he reached down his pants and began touching himself in the view of congregation which included many children.

Police arrived shortly afterward and took him to jail.

On Tuesday, investigators said Cosgrove was arrested a second time for aggravated stalking in a separate incident. Details about the second case are forthcoming.
