NATALBANY, LA (WAFB) -

Investigators said a woman is facing charges of burglary and theft after pawning lots of stolen jewelry.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said Taylor Kleinpeter, 21, of Natalbany was arrested Thursday.

Deputies said they learned someone went to a pawn shop in Hammond and sold several items reported stolen from a home in Natalbany on Dec. 3.

Detectives quickly confirmed Kleinpeter was the person who pawned the jewelry.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards reported as the burglary unit was preparing an arrest warrant, deputies discovered there was an active warrant for her arrest on a theft charge.

He added detectives found out she was at home on LA 1064 and went there to take her into custody.

TPSO said only some of the items stolen from the home have been recovered.

She was booked into the parish jail on residential burglary and theft charges.

Bond information was not provided.

The investigation is ongoing.
