PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a 14-year-old for the accidental shooting death of another teenager.

Deputies responded to the scene on Oak Meadow St. to find 13-year-old Christian Crain shot in the head. Crain was playing in a bedroom with two other teens when he was shot, according to investigators.

APSO says the gun used in the accidental shooting was stolen from a vehicle a few days prior to the incident.

The 14-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released, confessed to smoking marijuana prior to the shooting.

He is charged with negligent homicide, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Three adults were present during the shooting. Judy Himel, 44, Danielle Gaudin, 25 and Devin Himel, 18, were all arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

It is not known if any of the adults arrested were parents of any of the teens.
