AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

The first baby born in Sumter County in 2013 happened around 12 pm. Tuesday.

Cameron Isaiah Gordon entered the world at 12:04 p.m. at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center weighing in at 7 pounds and 2 ounces and 20 inches long. 

"My due date was January 5th, so I knew there was a possibility. It is very exciting to know that our child is the first baby born in Sumter County and it is something that he can always remember," said KaNundria Wilbon, Mother.

As the New Year's baby, little Cameron will receive a plaque and gifts from the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
