MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

One woman is facing serious drunk driving charges and another is being cited for leaving the scene after a crash in East Mesa on Wednesday.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Brandon Jones said an elderly woman failed to yield and was pulling out into traffic when she was hit by an oncoming driver.

The elderly woman left the scene and will be cited, Jones said.

Jones said the other driver, identified as Tammy Lovejoy, 45, was incoherent, unresponsive and appeared impaired.

A breathalyzer test showed she had a blood alcohol content of 0.309 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Lovejoy was taken to the hospital and will be booked on felony DUI charges upon her release from the hospital.

Jones said Lovejoy has a previous DUI.
