EL MIRAGE, AZ (CBS5) -

El Mirage police discovered a suspected chop shop in El Mirage Thursday morning.

Officers and detectives were called to the 13,500 block of N. Poppy Street to investigate a theft of utilities.

While on the property, detectives learned that parts from a stolen vehicle were inside a garage located in the back yard, according to El Mirage Police Detective Kim Walden.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for the residence and recovered automotive parts from two separate vehicles, Walden said.

One vehicle was stolen in Peoria and the other was stolen in Glendale. Walden said both vehicles had been dismantled.

Detectives are working to obtain more information about possible suspects.
