WTVM 1/4/13 Editorial: Upcoming Diversity Forum will cover tough topics

Posted: Updated:
(WTVM) -

On Thursday, January 24 at 8 p.m., WTVM and The Mayor's Commission on Diversity, Unity and Prosperity will present the 7th Annual diversity forum, live from the RiverCenter in Uptown Columbus.

We have taken on some tough topics in the past, and this year will be no exception.

The forum will expose sub-standard housing, slum lords and extreme living conditions in Columbus.

We will take an up-close look at how some of our neighbors are forced to live and what we can do to help alleviate these inhuman conditions.

You will hear from some folks who live their lives in these areas and caregivers who deal with the consequences. You are invited to attend the live event in the Bill Heard Theater or send us your questions and comments by e-mail during the program.

These conditions exist in almost every community, so please be a part of this important broadcast even if you don't live in Columbus.

General Manager Lee Brantley brings two editorials a week to WTVM. If you would like to respond to an editorial, e-mail your response to WTVM Editorial Committee or write to:
