BOAZ, AL (WAFF) -

A Boaz father and son are home after a celebrity trip to Miami to watch the BCS National Championship Game.

The pair became internet sensations on a YouTube video. It went viral when Daniel Buckhannan surprised his dad, Donald, with the tickets hidden in a Christmas gift.

Donald Buckhannan said he enjoyed all the attention the video got on the national media, but that attention never stopped.

Not only was Donald pleased with a large Tide victory, but he called his trip like winning the lottery without the money.

Donald said from the first day, they began receiving Bama gifts in the mail from people, but when he got to Miami, a television station there moved him from his hotel an hour away to a suite just 15 minutes away.

Donald found former Alabama players wanting their picture with him and was able to attend a festival courtesy of former quarterback Jay Barker.

But Donald and Daniel were especially surprised when ESPN upgraded their seats from the upper deck to the 18th row of the 40 yard line on national television.

"The trip was incredible.  Daniel and I talked a lot the last couple of days, like we've run out of words, you know? We're trying to figure out the right words to say.  I've use the word 'crazy' probably about a million times," said Donald.

While he has enjoyed many Alabama football games, Donald said this year will be one he cherishes forever.
