Short-term relationships are gaining popularity, according to a new survey by dating site Sugardaddie.com. 87% of the 3,000 members polled said they are more interested in shorter-term relationships than bang for buck hook-ups.
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 10, 2013
Sugardaddie.com has found that nearly 73% of people on the site are looking for short-term relationships. The dating site, which is the first ever sugar daddy dating site, found that most men on the site prefer relationships between 3-6 months max.
Female members on the site also prefer shorter-term relationships, according to the website's research, which was commissioned by Sugardaddie.com founder and CEO Steve Pasternack.
"I wanted to find out what the average length of relationships were between members of the site. There's a lot of different perceptions about sugar daddies and the types of relationships they prefer," says Mr. Pasternack.
None of the sugar daddies polled wanted a relationship shorter than 1 day, which website officials point to as evidence that sugar daddies are not looking for a fling. According to the site, sugar relationships are always about friendships that often involve sex, but without the aim towards marriage (in general).
"This is about economics as well as human psychology, when it comes to relationships, wealth and beauty always play a role, and that's what sugar is about; balancing the desire for money and beauty in relationships with clearly defined boundaries. "The bait for most sugar daddies when entering the dating pool is their financial stability, no matter how youthful or attractive they are," says Mr. Pasternack.
"Men are told from a young age to make lots of money and become providers, yet in today's world it's becoming a more even playing field from a gender perspective in terms of financial independence and success," says Mr. Pasternack.
