COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Perhaps in an effort to put a little more sting in the South Carolina Gamecocks' victory over the Michigan Wolverines in last Tuesday's Outback Bowl, someone has taken out an advertisement in the Free Times this week seeking running back Vincent Smith's helmet.

"MISSING," says the ad. "Vincent Smith's Michigan helmet. LAST SEEN: Tampa, FL. 1/1/2013. If found, call (734) 647-2583."

The number is for Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The ad itself appears to be purchased by Uncle Louie's, a bar in The Vista.

Of course, the ad is a nod at South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney's hit in the game where he hit Smith so hard his helmet flew off nearly 10 yards back.

"The Hit", as it is known by Gamecock fans, shifted momentum back to South Carolina and helped to seal a 33-28 victory against the Wolverines.

That hit also went viral almost as soon as it aired. A clip of the play posted on ESPN's YouTube page has garnered almost 3 million views since it was posted on New Year's Day.

With the bowl victory, South Carolina finished with an 11-2 (6-2 SEC) record.
