"4INAROW" commemorative BCS car tag posters delayed

Posted: Updated:
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Tourism Department says printing of commemorative posters featuring the Alabama license plate "4INAROW", designed by WSFA 12 News, are being delayed.

The department was planning to have 5,000 copies of the poster ready for the public by Friday, but the plan is being pushed back until at least next week due to licensing issues.

The tag features the University of Alabama and Auburn University logos in each corner as well as the year of their title win/s.

Once the posters are printed, they will be available for free at state welcome centers and tourism organizations across Alabama.

An update on the poster's status is expected next week. For now, tourism officials are encouraging citizens to visit http://www.Alabama.Travel where they can learn more about the state's "100 Alabama Roadtrips" campaign, including the BCS Crystal Trophy tour.

The car tag concept was based off one of five Facebook banners WSFA 12 News designed for social media distribution should the Crimson Tide win the championship game against Notre Dame. The posters have been directly shared thousands of times from WSFA 12 News' Facebook page, and an unknown number of indirect times from its website.

All five banners are still available for download HERE.

Department of Tourism Director Lee Sentell said that plans were being developed as a way of honoring the state's four consecutive BCS National Championships when he learned of WSFA 12 News' rendering of a car tag his office designed. "You can't improve on that," Sentell told his staff. WSFA 12 News management agreed to requests to reprint the tag.
