ECLECTIC, AL (WSFA) -

If you head out toward Lake Martin and you drive through Eclectic you might notice something out in one of the pastures.   Longhorns.  Big ole Texas Longhorns.   So who do you picture taking care of these animals that can weigh more than a ton.  This may surprise you.   "When I saw them, I fell in love with them," said cattle farmer Robin Norris.   She, yes she, is a petite lady with a lot of energy and whole lot of respect for her babies.  "I'm not afraid of them, but you do have to respect them.   They are like my children.  This is truly a gift from God to come out in the pasture early in the morning and work with the cows."

It's a lot of work, but she loves it.  She has a friend help her with the longhorns but this is her show.  Her husband is working overseas right now, but even when he's home, Norris says the longhorns are her career.   And she likes to have some fun with it.  Every once in a while you will see a funny sign next to the fence like, "Happy Mooooo Year."  "We put up signs during the holidays to put smiles on peoples faces.

It keeps her smiling too.  She's passionate, hard working and full of energy, the Lady Longhorn out along County Road 12.
