BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

New Orleans won't be the only party spot for Super Bowl fans, especially those willing to drive a little.

Fan Experiences, a group that calls itself- the preferred service provider for NFL fans has contracted with at least 21 hotels in and around the Baton Rouge area to help fans find their way to the Capital City.

The group's website promotes Baton Rouge as the place to be for Super Bowl fans not staying in New Orleans. The site says fans can expect tailgating, live music, and Mardi Gras parades right in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge- the North Boulevard Town Square.

Visit Baton Rouge officials estimate our city has the potential to host roughly 20,000 people over Super Bowl weekend.

"We're going to have a fan fest open to the public and that's not just visitors, that includes our viewers here in the capital area," said Paul Arrigo with Visit Baton Rouge

"We want local fans to come on out with Visit Baton Rouge."

The city's two day event will be like a Live After Five concert on steroids mainly because the different concerts will take breaks for several Mardi Gras parades that will roll through the streets of Baton Rouge.

"Super Bowl is such a huge event that builds and that ripple effect goes to Baton Rouge," says Davis Rhorer with the Downtown Development District.

"It fills up hotel rooms and you have all sorts of activity that flows from the largest sporting event in the world."

Rhorer says officials had to order in generators to help with some power issues after someone crashed into one of the main electrical boxes downtown that serves power to part of the Town Square.

Here is a list of the events and the concert schedule associated with Super Bowl weekend in Baton Rouge.
