ATLANTA (AP) - State officials are reminding football fans to be responsible about drinking as the Atlanta Falcons compete in the NFL playoffs Sunday.
The Governor's Office of Highway Safety is encouraging people to designate a sober driver if they plan to tailgate or cheer the team on at a bar.
The Falcons are facing the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Conference Championship Sunday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. The winner will go on to the Super Bowl in New Orleans Feb. 3.
The highway safety officials plan to post signs at the entrances of the Georgia Dome parking lots to remind them that a DUI arrest could carry a fine of up to $10,000. They also plan to distribute the message in sports bars, restaurants and on college campuses statewide.
