(WTVM) -

LifeSouth Blood donor centers are in need of blood donations.

They say the cold front rolling through the south is causing their blood drives to be canceled. Supplies are already low, and blood usage at many local hospitals has been far above normal.

They have issued an emergency appeal for blood donors of all types. Blood types AB-positive and negative, and O-negative are in the shortest supply.

For more information about donating you can call LifeSouth toll-free at 1-888-795-2707.
