PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Residents of a Phoenix apartment complex were evacuated late Sunday night after a fire broke out and required the Phoenix Fire Department to call in additional units.

The fire began about 10 p.m. at 866 N. Cofco Court, just south of the Loop 202 and near 44th Street, according to the fire department.

Flames roared through the roof of the two-story complex, forcing firefighters to escalate the fire to a second alarm.

There was no word on injuries , cause of the fire or how many residents were displaced.

No other information was immediately available.
