PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police are looking for a man they said is responsible for at least 13 armed robberies at pharmacies across the Valley between November and Jan. 15.

Police said the man, known as the Calligraphy Bandit, enters a business and goes directly to the pharmacy, where he hands over a hand-written note demanding oxycodone.

Police said the man is armed with a handgun and has been aggressive in recent robberies. He flees as soon as he is given the drugs.

He is described as Hispanic, 19 to 35 years old, 5'4" to 5'6" tall, and 140 to 180 pounds. He wears a hoodie, baseball cap and sunglasses.

The suspect possibly drives a dark gray Dodge Stratus sedan or a 1980s single cab pickup truck.

Officials said the suspect didn't get lucky when he tried to hit Walgreens stores.  That's because the chain installed time-delay safes in their Arizona stores in August 2012.

"We've seen approximately about an 80% decrease in oxycodone type robberies since installing the time delay safe at Walgreens," said Walgreens Loss Prevention Officer Ken Ridolfi.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call  the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
