Michael Pooley with the Tempe Police Department said the girl was walking home from school through the apartment complex at 3730 S. Mill Ave. when the man approached her. She tried to walk away when he grabbed her arm, but she pulled away and ran home.

Pooley said she was not hurt.

The victim described the man as a 5'2'' tall, heavy-set Hispanic man, 30 to 39 years old with short, dark hair. She said he was wearing a dirty white T-shirt and jeans.
