    However, an Auburn University research team has created a test using a biosensor that will help doctors go from hours to minutes in identifying super bacteria like MRSA, a type of staph bacteria that can cause deadly skin infections.

Changes could be ahead for Montgomery's Cloverdale neighborhood.

City leaders hope to pass an ordinance to create an entertainment district there similar to the one in downtown.

It would allow people to legally carry alcoholic beverages around certain portions of East Fairview Avenue and Cloverdale Road.

Old Cloverdale is known for its quirky style and locally-owned businesses.

And local patrons want to keep it that way.

"They didn't want us to lose the quality of what we enjoy down here," says Cloverdale Mayor, Todd Kirk.

Kirk has fielded resident concerns regarding the city council's possible entertainment district decision and a new development planned for an empty storefront on East Fairview.

"People like new stuff, but they are also sort of resistant to change," adds Kirk.

Kirk says many residents are warming up to the idea of an entertainment district. In fact, two independent Cloverdale neighborhood associations voted to stand by it.

"We actually gave our approval a couple months back. It sort of quieted down," says Kirk.

Many people in and around Cloverdale believe creating the entertainment district would spur business in more than just bars and restaurants.

"It helps the movie theater by first of all getting people in to the district and aware of the district and they see the big sign that says movie theater," says Capri Theater Director, Martin McCaffery.

What some are unsure of is what will happen to the old The Look Boutique space across the street.

"A neighborhood pub and restaurant," says Montgomery developer Mike Watson.

Watson bought the entire shopping strip stretching from 1048 Jazz and Blues to Bud's Bar.

Nearby business owners declined to comment, but stated they were concerned Watson's possible bar could add traffic, noise and additional trash to the area.

Watson says he won't do anything to hurt Cloverdale's image.

"A neighborhood bar will be perfect for blending in, supporting the business of all the others."

Watson says he plans to develop the pub even if the city doesn't vote to create a Cloverdale entertainment district.

He admits he has not received any city incentives for the project.
