(WTVM) -

We have a happy ending to report to the search for a missing 3-year-old boy in Phenix City.

He has been found and he's safe and sound and reunited with his family.

Alden Jeremiah Nowlin walked into the woods just before dark and got lost. Crews had been searching for him for hours in the area around his home around Hitchitie Road and Highway 169.

Russell County Sheriff Health Taylor says more than a hundred volunteers from the fire and sheriff's departments searched the woods for the little boy. They also used a helicopter and police dogs.

Alden was found at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
