PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A lawsuit has been dismissed against actor Steven Seagal and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office over an arrest that a Phoenix-area man claimed was staged for the sake of good television.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court, was tossed after Jesus Llovera, 43, of Laveen, pleaded guilty to cockfighting and drug possession charges in Maricopa County Superior Court last week. [Click here to read the court document (PDF)]

Llovera had claimed Seagal and the deputies unlawfully raided his home in March 2011. Llovera maintained the birds on his property were for show and not for fighting.

Video from the production company I-TV showed armored tanks, bomb robots, dozens of SWAT members in full gear and several cameras from Seagal's film crew. Seagal was riding in the tank.

More than 100 roosters were seized.

The show is titled Steven Seagal: Lawman and follows Seagal's exploits as a deputized officer.

Llovera was on two year's unsupervised probation before his arrest.

Llovera filed a suit in March 2012. The suit sought unspecified monetary damages for defamation, false arrest and civil rights violations.
