Following a perfect 2-0 week, Columbus State guard Taren White has been named the Peach Belt Conference women's basketball player of the week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

White averaged 16.5 points per game and shot 57.7% (15-of-26) in victories over Montevallo and Georgia Southwestern.

The sophomore began the week with 16 points against Montevallo including the game-winning basket as time expired to give CSU the 78-77 victory. Columbus State closed the game on an 18-5 run after trailing 72-60 with four minutes remaining. White started the run with a three-point play and finished it with the winning shot.

She followed it up with 17 points in just 19 minutes in a 75-54 Lady Cougar win over Georgia Southwestern. In addition to her scoring total, White grabbed four rebounds and tallied three steals.

The Grayson native currently leads the team and ranks 12th in the conference at 12.5 points per game coming off the bench for the Lady Cougars.
