COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

University of South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin didn't mince words in a radio interview following his team's performance against the Florida Gators Wednesday night.

"I don't think you guys need me to explain that we took a complete ass whooping, so it is what it is," said Martin to the SportsTalk Radio Network.

From start to finish, the Gamecocks were outmatched, outgunned, and outwitted by the Gators' offense and defense. By the time it was over, Martin's team stared at a 39-point deficit and the knowledge that they were never really in the game to begin with.

Florida would win by a score of 75-36.

"We didn't do a good job," said Martin. "They're real good, don't misunderstand me. I don't want to take anything away from Florida or anyone else we've played, but they neutralized us. Offensively, they're very good so you never get opportunities in a broken floor against them. They're just old and strong and they know how to play and we're not. They've got a 265 pound center and we've got RJ who is 215 pounds. They've got 6'10" guys, we've got 6'5" guys."

Loss aside, Martin said it was time to get back to work and let go of one the biggest losses in school history.

"It is what it is. What are we going to do? Cry? Make excuses? We got thrown around like a junior varsity high school team here today. We got to wake up, we got to get back to what we've done," said Martin.

The Gamecocks will have to recover quickly. The Georgia Bulldogs will meet the Gamecocks at Colonial Life Arena this Saturday.
