PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police are investigating the death of a man found inside his apartment near 8900 N. 19th Avenue on Friday morning.

A security guard found the Arcadia doors to the apartment broken about 2:30 a.m. and called police, according to Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Police Department.

He said officers went into the apartment and found the body. The man is believed to be a resident of the unit at Morgan Park Apartment Home and in his 70s, Thompson said.

Homicide investigators were on the scene, but detectives don't know how the man died, Thompson said.

No other information was immediately available.
