AUGUSTA, Ga. – Columbus State's Kori Waugh was named the Peach Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

In the opening game of the season against Lynn, the Lady Cougars were down 1-0 in the bottom of the third. With two-outs and a runner on base, Waugh went deep giving CSU the lead. The Lady Cougars went on to win the game 3-2.

On Sunday, Columbus State took on Florida Tech and came out on top 2-1 in eight innings. Waugh recorded two of CSU's three hits in the game including hitting her second long ball of the season in the fifth inning.

In the final game of the weekend, Waugh went 1-for-3 against Florida Southern as the Lady Cougars scored two runs in the top of the seventh to defeat the Moccasins 2-1.
