PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A couple married more than six decades died Friday in a murder-suicide at a senior living center in Phoenix.
Phoenix police spokesman Tommy Thompson said the husband killed his wife and then took his own life.
Thompson said the couple, who had been married for 66 years, had health issues.
The man called his son to tell him he was going to end their lives.
Lifestream Complete Senior Living released the following statement on Friday.
"Police are currently investigating an apparent murder/suicide at the Lifestream Complete Senior Living at Northeast Phoenix. We understand that there is a lot of information to be uncovered, and at this time, we are only concerned with the safety of our residents. The police are continuing their investigation into this matter."
The living center is near the Loop 101 and Cave Creek Road.
No other information has been released.
