COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A former Muscogee County sheriff's deputy was charged Saturday with making terroristic threats and impersonating an officer.

The incident began at 11:25 a.m. Saturday when police were called to 195 Springfield Ave. in Columbus for a report of a domestic dispute.

According to police, Darrein K. Price's mother and sister were involved in a heated argument at that address.

Officials said Price was also on the scene and repeatedly interfered as police were attempting to gain an initial understanding of the situation.  At one point, Price is accused of representing himself to police as a current sheriff's deputy.

Police discovered that Price had been terminated from his position as a deputy and now holds no law enforcement authority.

Price is also accused of making threatening statements.

He was arrested on one count each of disorderly conduct, terroristic threats, and impersonating a police officer and was taken to jail.
