SEDONA, AZ (CBS5) -

Arizona Highway 89A between Sedona and Interstate 17 reopened Monday morning after it was closed overnight due to heavy snow and ice on the pavement.

I-17 between State Route 179 and Flagstaff, which was closed for much of Sunday evening, was reopened later Sunday night, though snowplows continues to operate throughout northern Arizona, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

A winter weather advisory was issued until 8 p.m. Monday by the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, encompassing Payson, Show Low, the White Mountains and the eastern Mogollon Rim.

An ADOT spokesman said hazardous driving conditions were possible throughout the advisory areas, and visibility could be limited and possible heavy snow above e 2,500 feet.

Motorists can call 511 or log on to ADOT's Traveler Information Center for up-to-date highway conditions.
