MESA, AZ (AP) -

The Tonto National Forest is looking for volunteers to help clean up one if its busiest recreation spots.

The annual cleanup of the lower Salt River is scheduled Saturday.

Mesa District ranger Gary Hanna says low water flows make late winter an ideal time to clean up trash in the river and along its banks.

The U.S. Forest Service will supply trash bags.

Volunteers can register online and should wear closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes, sunscreen and gloves.
