One of the best kept secrets on the LSU campus over the last few years has been the LSU gymnastic team.
D-D Breaux and her Tigers are back at it again this season sitting seventh in the nation. LSU is now 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the Southeastern Conference after a blow out win at Missouri last Friday.
Super sophomores Rheagan Courville and Llomincia Hall were named SEC Gymnast of the Week and SEC Specialist of the Week, respectively. Courville picked up four individual titles at Missouri, including her fourth all around crown this season. Hall finished with a perfect 10.0 on floor exercise, the first perfect score since Ashleigh Clare-Kearney had one in 2009.
The Tigers started off the season with big wins over NC State and currently ranked No. 1 Florida. LSU beat Florida 196.875-196.575, but the following week had its worst performance of the season at Alabama. The Tigers scored a season low 195.525 in a loss to the Crimson Tide.
However in gymnastics it is not about wins and losses, it is all about average score. The Tigers are averaging a 196.450 through nine meets. Coach Breaux just wants to see more consistency from her team as they close out the season and look to make it the school's third Super Six appearance.
The Tigers have their next meet Friday when they host No. 20 Arkansas at the PMAC at 7:00 p.m.
