Standoff on Farley Drive in Columbus comes to an end

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Police were engaged in a standoff on Farley Drive near Northstar Drive in Columbus earlier Monday night.

Authorities have not released many details at this time, but we do know the incident has come to a close.

Police tell us a woman was in a car with a loaded fire arm and threatening to take her own life.

The woman then went into a home which caught fire. Officials believe she set clothes on top of the stove, which led to the fire.

Two police officers were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.

The woman was taken to the hospital. It is not clear if she will face any charges.
