MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Electronic bingo has again taken center stage this week as Alabama's Attorney General's office has raided and shut down Victoryland, while at the same time, filing a lawsuit to stop the operation of slot machines at casinos owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

The debate on pros and cons of electronic gambling will again re-ignite this week as we slog through what will most likely be another protracted legal battle with each side claiming they are on the right side of the law.

So, if you're like me and want this issue to be resolved once and for all, what has to happen is our Legislators will need to put aside partisan differences and let the people vote.

Now is a perfect time to reinvigorate the constitutional amendment debate to legalize gambling in Alabama and not let 140 lawmakers decide what is best for 4.8 million Alabamians.

Encourage your lawmakers to put it on the ballot and let's end this once and for all.
