TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
Carnival is facing their first class action lawsuit surrounding the events that left the cruise ship "Triumph" stranded at sea for days.
An Oklahoma couple filed the lawsuit, which says "Carnival knew or should have known that the vessel was likely to experience mechanical and/or engine issues because of prior similar issues."
Martha Lindblom, an East Texas woman who was stranded on the ship, says the lawsuit claims are exaggerated and she wants nothing to do with it.
Lindblom has been back in Tyler for almost a week and her attitude about cruises might surprise you.
"I'm ready for another cruise just to unwind."
Lindblom thinks the fire that left her and around 4,000 others stranded at sea was a freak accident.
"It's one of those things that happens and you make the best of it.
She says some people even made a sort of survival game out of the situation, "If you were camping you would do the same thing!"
We read her some allegations from the lawsuit about the risk of physical harm. Lindblom says she never felt afraid for her life, there was never any shortage of food, and the crew took excellent care of the passengers considering the situation at hand.
Lindblom isn't surprised people are filing lawsuits but says, instead of dwelling on what happened, she is just thankful, "Any of the young adults that are fighting over in Iraq, they're living in worse conditions than any of this and they're doing it so we can be on that ship and take a vacation. So, we've got nothing to complain about."
Lindblom says she did not see people getting sick aboard the ship but she does recall some memorable moments.
"I saw dads sitting down playing cards with their kids because they couldn't use their laptops or iPads or the cell phones."
She says people have a right to sue but she is not planning on being one of them.
Lindblom says she and her husband already have their next cruise booked but they are using a different cruise line.
