MOUNT PLEASANT (KLTV) - The Mount Pleasant Police Department is investigating an assault that took place on January 17 at around 6 p.m. in the 200 block of Bluebird Street. 

According to the police department, a teenage female was in her backyard when she was confronted by a black male.  The male subject had a knife in his left hand and attacked the female.  She was able to escape from the male and run to her house for help. 

The female received cuts to her upper body and legs in the altercation.

With the assistance of the Texas Rangers, a sketch was rendered of the suspect.
