WATSON, LA (WAFB) -

Is Watson on the way to becoming a city?  If it does, it would be the largest city in Livingston Parish.

Hundreds of residents gathered Thursday at Live Oak High School for a presentation by Neighbors in Action.

The group wants to incorporate Watson and hire three full-time public officials using revenue generated from a tax on utilities.

Many on hand expressed concern about additional costs for each resident.

The next step would be to get a petition signed by 25 percent of the population in order to get the issue on the ballot.
