GEISMAR, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are looking for a man after an explosion inside a trailer they believe was caused by him cooking meth Thursday evening.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is trying to find Ryan Espinoza, 31, of Gonzales. They arrested his girlfriend, Christy Cockerham, 35, of Geismar. The explosion happened inside her home.

Deputies said they received a call someone was possibly mixing narcotics inside the manufactured home, but when they responded to investigate the caller told them he had heard a loud explosion and saw a large flame shoot out of a bedroom window. The neighbor added he ran to the home to rescue those inside and saw Espinoza carrying a large black garbage bag out the back of the trailer.

Detectives said they found evidence consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine and arrested Cockerham after learning she was at the home when it exploded. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of creation of a clandestine lab and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond has not been set.

Espinoza is wanted on charges of creation of a clandestine lab, simple arson, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
