BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

18 victims in an asphalt paving scam will be receiving over $180,000 in restitution.

The victims overpaid for shoddy driveway repairs using substandard materials.

At least one victim paid as much as $32,500 for repairs.

Two men, Billy Densmore II and Derrick Johnson were ordered to pay the restitution during sentencing last month.

"I am outraged that these crooks preyed on and conned some of our elderly and visually impaired citizens," said Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.  "My office remains committed to protecting the state's most vulnerable citizens and will continue to work with law enforcement agencies to pursue and apprehend scam artists and con men."

Authorities seized heavy equipment and cash from the men when they were arrested.
