On the heels of Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson's plan to shut down Majestic Sports Bar for unlicensed liquor sales and underage patron violations, Columbus special operations agents are on the hunt for any other businesses breaking alcohol laws as well.

Columbus investigators said throughout the year they go to several hundred bars, gas stations, and restaurants looking to catch anyone committing alcohol violations.

Two women from two separate establishments ended up behind a different set of bars during the stings.  A bartender at Maple Sports Bar on Veterans Parkway, 30-year-old Mandy Baird, was arrested for serving alcohol to a minor.

Agents reported they entered the bar with a 20 year-old "underage detail" that ordered a beer.  Baird's accused of giving the beer to the undercover minor without asking for identification.   

Ashlee Jamieson, an employee at Mix Ultra Lounge on Broadway, was caught empty-handed. The 20-year-old was working as a "shot girl" when investigators said they entered the popular night club and asked employees for their ABC cards. Jamieson was unable to present the license to serve alcohol and she was arrested on the scene.

Captain Gil Slouchik with the Columbus Special Operations Unit said it's a two-step process for catching violators.

Slouchik said sometimes an undercover agent is sent inside a business with a minor that asks for alcohol as they did with Maple Sports Bar.

The second step, Cpt. Slouchik said, is when agents simply ask employees for the proper credentials.

Authorities say the majority of Columbus businesses are following the rules.

Cpt. Slouchik says at one point they entered more than 25 businesses and no one took the bait.
