LAKEPORT, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas restaurant is left heavily damaged and it will be closed for at least two weeks after it caught fire Sunday afternoon.

Officials responded to "Adams Rib Pit Bar-B-Que" located at the intersection of Estes Parkway and Jet drive in Lakeport Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out in the back room.

Upon arrival, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to the front of the building, where the dining room is located. Officials say that the fire was contained to the stock and storage area.

Customers and employees were in the restaurant at the time of the fire, but were able to escape without any injuries being reported.

The owner tells KLTV that the restaurant will be closed for at least two weeks to clean up and repair any damage done to the building.

Officials say about 50-percent of the building was damaged in this fire. The cause has not yet been determined, but they believe it started as the result of an electrical problem.
