(WTVM) -

For the first time this year gas prices are finally starting to fall after seeing record high numbers.

February's average of $3.65 a gallon was the highest in history for that time of year.

On Tuesday the national average is $3.70 a gallon, which is eight cents less from just last week. Georgia's average for a gallon of gas is $3.66, and Alabama's average is $3.58.

We spoke with Vincent Horton, a Phenix City man who explains what he can do with the gas money he will save.

"It's wonderful, you know, like I said, when more people have more money in their pockets they can do more things like put a smile on, maybe they can do stuff for their kids or something," said Horton.

According to gas buddy.com, the cheapest gas in Columbus is at the Raceway on Victory Drive at $3.58 a gallon.

You can find the cheapest gas in Phenix City at the Short Stop on Lee County Road 240 at $3.49 a gallon.
