Columbus police breakup house party, find growing marijuana


A house party left neighborsupset, garbage everywhere, and hundreds of people crowded in the street.

It was gunfire and loudmusic that prompted a neighbor to call police when the party got out ofcontrol.

Police report once theyarrived at the home on Longview Drive in Columbus numerous cars were blockingthe flow of traffic and it appeared to be at least 200 people there includingminors.

Garbage littered the yardof the corner lot home.  Once authorities wereinside the home they said a sound coming from a closet caught their attention.

Police arrested Terrence Dennis,20, after finding five marijuana plants hidden in a closet.

Dennis pled not guilty to fivecounts of possession, manufacturing, and distribution of a controlled substanceand maintaining a disorderly house.  Four of the possession charges were dismissed on grounds of not being usual protocol for charges.

Officers also reportedfinding marijuana in the kitchen sink drain. 

Dennis' bond has been setat $15,500. He remains in the MuscogeeCounty jail.
