PINE MOUNTAIN, GA (WTVM) -
Steeplechase organizers and Waffle House CEO have reached an agreement about the future of the race.
The Steeplechase Horse Race, which benefits local arts organizations, will continue at former Callaway Gardens despite the new owner.
The race, which has been held at the site for 28 years, has raised more than $3 million for local arts organizations.
On Wednesday, the Steeplechase gave earnings from the 2012 event to its beneficiaries.
Paul Pierce, executive director of the Springer Opera House said, with the steeplechase's support, the Springer is able to serve over 15,000 children and 50 schools though their arts-in-education outreach program called ArtServe.
