U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., announced Monday he has joined Instagram as @senchambliss.

Instagram is a free, popular photo-sharing application that allows users to take photos, add special effects and share the images on social-networking platforms.

"I'm excited to add yet another way for people to connect with me on their mobile devices," said Chambliss. "Instagram will allow my office and I to share behind-the-scenes photos, as well as highlight some of my past experiences during my 18 years in public service."

Instagram currently has 100 million monthly active users and is available for download for your iPhone on iTunes or for an Android-based smartphone  in the Google Play store. For more information on Instagram, visit their website.
