ALBANY, GA -

Sometimes in basketball an injury can either spring you forward when you get healthy or hold you back. Darton forward Chanteniece Fann took her knee injury earlier this year right in stride.

Fann missed several games because of that knee during the middle of the year but has come back better than ever helping the Lady Cavs to the national tournament next week.  Head coach Lea Henry calls Fann a crucial part of what they do on the court resulting her second team all-conference selection.

It's the result of tons of hard work and dedication even after things were kind of rough dealing that pesky knee.

"What I went through to get well was five times a week rehab then practice. I just know I had to workout even harder on my knee than what I usually do on the court," said Fann.

Head coach Lea Henry said "We gave her probably an extra week off than she really needed just to get healthy and she handled that extremely well. She was focused on her rehab and when she back it took her a week or so to get back full speed but when she got that under her belt she was phenomenal."

Darton opens the national tournament next Tuesday in Kansas.
