TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

A 32-year-old woman was arrested and booked into jail on charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence after a collision that killed a motorcyclist Tuesday.

Tempe police said Veronica Muckerman was driving a black GMC Yukon just before 6 p.m. when she turned left at the intersection of Broadway and Rural roads in front of the motorcycle driven by Elsa Tovar, 21. Tovar was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries, according to the Tempe Police Department.

Police said Muckerman is suspected of drinking and driving and had her 9 and 12-year-old daughters inside the Yukon. The children were not hurt, police said.

She was booked into the Tempe City Jail on one count of manslaughter and three counts of aggravated DUI, according to police.

No other information was immediately available.
