COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Fire officials are investigating what they believe to be an electrical fire that burned a home on Lloyd Road in Columbus.

Officials got the call around 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning that a house was on fire. News Leader 9's Suzanne Bratton was on the scene shortly afterwards.

The home was vacant at the time the flames sparked, and neighbors say the owners were trying to renovate.

The blaze was close to power lines and caused power outages to nearby homes. Georgia Power was on the scene of the fire Thursday morning and say that all power has been restored to the area at this time.
