SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A water main break early Thursday morning has closed southbound Pima Road at Pinnacle Peak Road in Scottsdale through part of the weekend.

On Friday, the Scottsdale Traffic Management said the work on repairing the water main break is going well and they expect to have it finished and traffic reopened by noon on Saturday.

In the meantime, Scottsdale Traffic Management said southbound traffic is being detoured west. East and westbound traffic cannot go through the intersection. Only westbound traffic can turn right to go north on Pima. Northbound is down to one lane.

Scottsdale traffic officials are asking motorists to use Scottsdale Road as an alternate route for drivers heading north or south, and use Happy Valley or Jomax if you're heading east or west.
