YouTube video leads police to accused drug dealer

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Sheriff's officials in Jefferson County say a YouTube video has led to an aspiring rapper being arrested on drug charges.

Sheriff's spokesman Randy Christian says the department began investigating a man they suspected of selling heroin, cocaine and marijuana in southwest Birmingham in February 2012 and learned the man's identity through a rap video he posted to YouTube featuring him engaged in drug sales. It's unclear when the video was posted online.

Christian says police executed a search warrant in late February and arrested 26-year-old Christopher Dewayne Taylor on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Christian says he also had outstanding warrants for several other charges.

Taylor is being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail and it is unclear if he has an attorney.
