ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

It's a big weekend for the Albany Panthers.

The team plays their home opener as they seek their third straight championship, and they have their biggest rival coming to town.

The Columbus Lions travel across the state to tangle with the Panthers Saturday, and the Panthers want you to help them blackout the Civic Center.

The team is asking all fans to wear black to Saturday night's game.

General Manager Will Carter says he expects the atmosphere to match those at some of football's historic rivalries.

"Columbus is a rival. It's a rivalry game. Its like Auburn-Alabama, Florida-Florida State," Carter says. "So I expect us to come out and play well and I expect 6000 plus fans in the arena to watch us compete."

Kickoff is Saturday night at 7:30.
